EarthLite / Living Earth Crafts Prone Comfort Bolster and Headrest

The pandemic ’ s impact on the spa industry has obviously been immense , but its impact on the health and well-being of millions around the world has been truly devastating . Recognizing an opportunity to leverage their expertise as a leading manufacturer of spa and salon equipment to help combat coronavirus , Earthlite and its sister company Living Earth Crafts developed the patent-pending Breathe bolster . The Breathe bolster supports prone positioning for hospitalized COVID-19 patients , which aids in their treatment . “ We understand that extended proning is being increasingly prescribed by doctors to improve patient oxygenation while recovering from respiratory ailments , including COVID- 19 ,” says Earthlite and LEC CEO Jim Chenevey .

More than 300 ICUs and critical care units across the U . S . have used Earthlite ’ s proning bolsters to treat COVID-19 patients , aiding their comfort and recovery through intentional design . “ We refined the design with input from multiple hospitals across the country ,” said Melissa Mazzola , Earthlite ’ s director of sales . That resulted in a bolster crafted from memory foam and featuring an adjustable face cushion that allowed for even larger patients — who are often at greater risk from COVID-19 — to rest comfortably . Chenevey and his team are gratified with the real-world impact their innovation has had : “ Our entire company is proud of our participation in the effort to combat Coronavirus and we are deeply gratified with this recognition from the ISPA membership .”
WTS International LifeStart Virtual Wellness Platform

Seeking a meaningful way to support clients as their facilities closed due to the pandemic , WTS International acted swiftly to develop LifeStart , a virtual wellness program . The company saw the platform as an opportunity to help the businesses they serve create new revenue streams while providing real value to their guests . In addition to addressing the financial strain clients felt during their closures , the platform also served as a way for spa guests to continue looking after their health and well-being during an especially challenging period .“ Spa and fitness members received highly accessible programming that kept guests engaged and focused on supporting mental health , mindfulness , stress management , nutrition , home skin care and movement ,” says Vice President of Spas Susie Hammer .

Recognizing that guests unable to continue their spa and fitness routines in person would value flexibility and quality of content , WTS crafted the program to offer live and on-demand fitness classes and other content like cooking demonstrations and meditation sessions . All told , more than 100,000 users have engaged with the platform ( including more than 40,000 live virtual fitness group participants ), and there are plans to expand its offerings .“ We plan to expand into more topics ,” says Hammer .“ We have always catered to our customer ’ s needs and this platform allows us to engage more meaningfully with clients and tailor programming to best help people in their wellness journeys .” n
