Eminence Organic Skin Care Charitable Initiative for Essential Workers
Frontline and essential workers were among the groups most intensely and relentlessly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic , which is why Eminence Organic Skin Care rapidly adjusted production efforts and utilized its global supply chain in 2020 to quickly produce a limited run of hand sanitizer , which they donated to more than 100 hospitals , medical facilities and community groups who were combatting COVID-19 in the U . S . and Canada . “ In a time when many companies scaled back their charitable giving , we expanded our commitment to giving back to the community and those in need ,” says Eminence President Boldijarre Koronczay .
The giving did not , however , begin and end with hand sanitizer . The company also donated thousands of personal care products to those same brave workers . “ Many frontline workers are so busy fighting the pandemic that they no longer have time for breaks or self-care ,” Koronczay says . “ We ’ ve heard from dozens of nurses and physicians that the products have helped soothe their tired , dry skin .” Eminence has maintained their giving , reviewing demand each quarter and allocating additional stock to support the ongoing cause . In 2021 alone , they have donated more than 7,600 personal care products and more than 11,700 hand sanitizers to groups in need .
Beauty Changes Lives Covid-19 Relief Grants
More than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic , it can be easy to forget just how quickly the spa industry felt its initial impact .“ Some crisis situations can be predicted , but certainly no one would have envisioned that salons would literally be shut down overnight ,” says Lynelle Lynch , president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation . Sudden job losses and business closures created the need for a response that was just as swift , she notes .“ Beauty Changes Lives is proud of responding with speed and agility during a moment of extreme economic hardship . Between March 1 and April 30 , 2020 , we linked efforts with like-minded partners and distributed 256,000 dollars to displaced beauty professionals .”
The relief grants allowed affected individuals to cover basic expenses at a time when they were cut off from their livelihoods . Lynch and the Beauty Changes Lives team knew they were making a meaningful difference when they began to hear from grant recipients .“ A recipient who shared that the donation helped her put groceries on the table when her salon was closed was especially moving ,” says Lynch , whose organization continues to identify opportunities to help those in need .
