FROM YOUR CHAIRMAN
SUMMER IS HERE ( in the U . S ., at least ), and soon many of us will be beaching and barbecuing ! But before we get too lost in the lazy , hazy days of summer , let ’ s take a minute and reflect on our recent Stronger Together Summit .
We shared some amazing moments together — kicking things off with a message from Deborah Szekely , who just celebrated her 99th year on the planet — highlighting the importance of friendships and togetherness . James Brown may have been the Godfather of Soul , but Deborah is definitely our Godmother of Spa ! Resource partner members showcased the best of their products and offerings in our incredible Product Learning Labs ( how wonderful to be a part of those recordings and see their brilliance in real time ). Two Seths and a Bryan dropped some truly powerful knowledge for us to soak up in three invigorating and inspirational Power Sessions . And who can forget the incredible educational moments from the Knowledge Builder Sessions , where great thinkers , innovative problem-solvers and industry icons alike came together to share their wisdom , insights and encouragement ?
And of course , there were the nearly 1,000 ISPA members who took the time to join us for a historic event and share those powerful moments together . Behind the scenes , the incredible ISPA HQ Team spent hours editing footage , writing scripts , coaching speakers and bringing this event to life with good old fashioned elbow grease . So many people dedicated their time , their expertise and their energy to create an event that met a moment and added up to far more than the sum of its parts .
Even as the Summit shrinks in the rearview mirror , I keep coming back to Deborah ’ s words on friendship . I think that ’ s what the Summit was about : new friends and old friends coming together for the greater good . John Donne , the poet and author who once wrote ,“ No man is an island ,” would have been proud . I am excited about the future for all of us , even as life continues to unfold before us in new and unimaginable ways . We will all get by with a little help from our friends .
