The spa ’ s retail offerings — which includes books , spa products and meditation cushions — allow guests to continue that pursuit of balance by “[ recreating ] a space of serenity in [ their ] own home ” and “[ maintaining ] a Miraval state of mind anywhere , anytime ,” Gaddis adds . “ The space is designed with symmetry , from the warm woods that flow from the Life in Balance Spa into Spa Retail to the wall-to-wall shelving that provides maximum display space for all product lines .”
To facilitate that state of mind during their visits , guests can step into the spa ’ s adjacent Quiet Lounge , which features floor-to-ceiling windows through which they can enjoy spectacular views of the Catalina peaks while sipping herbal tea among soft chaises , fleecy blankets and a fireplace .
These spaces are far from the only elements of the spa ’ s design that invites a shift in perspective . The spa ’ s entrance , for example , guides guests to orient themselves to the spa ’ s message of life-enhancing simplicity . “ From the moment you cross the bridge to the Life in Balance Spa , you feel the cleansing energy of purposefully placed tourmalines and soft grasses that grace the entrance path . A bowl of stones serves as a place to pause and set intentions . The smell of jasmine greets you at the ancient
door . This ceremonial sensory sequence prepares you to enter a space of tranquility ,” Gaddis says .“ The design is influenced by an intimate connection with the surrounding Sonoran Desert landscape .
Forging Connections
