THIS MONTH , ISPA will release the full findings of the 22nd ISPA U . S . Spa Industry Study . Those words are likely music to the ears of the notoriously data-driven ISPA community , not least of all because it ’ s been nearly two years since the last complete results report for the study was published . Last year , ISPA ’ s research partners at PricewaterhouseCoopers ( PwC ) were able to provide a vital snapshot of the spa industry as it existed at the beginning of 2020 through their presentation of the so-called Big Five Statistics . At the ISPA Stronger Together Summit in May , they revealed the extent of the pandemic ’ s impact on those figures when they unveiled the 2021 Big Five . The upcoming report will dive deep beyond those big-picture statistics and offer additional clarity on both how the pandemic affected U . S . spas and how their recovery can best proceed .
ISPA ’ s research , which is funded by the ISPA Foundation , is routinely cited by members as a prized benefit , and we ’ re confident that this results report will only deepen appreciation for all the thought , planning and nuance that goes into collecting and analyzing truly actionable data . PwC , working closely with the ISPA Headquarters Team , revised the 2021 survey to better capture the kinds of data that leaders in our industry need to effectively recover from the pandemic and thrive going forward .
