A Reclaimed Aesthetic

The original spa at Blackberry Farm was located in a renovated farmhouse , so in an effort to retain that charm and character in the Wellhouse , Blackberry Farm Design used reclaimed barn wood on the cabinetry , reclaimed white oak flooring and plaster walls to keep the integrity of the architecture of a white barn . This choice creates a soothing palate that allows guests to focus on the captivating views outside , as well as the art collection — featuring black and white photos taken by local college students , as well as pieces from local artists Richard Jolley and Andy Saftel — on display throughout the spa . As Meredith Crawford notes , the aesthetic carries over into even the smallest aspects of the space ’ s design : “ Small details , like covering each book in white rather than showing their multicolored covers , supports the calming and thoughtful design philosophy throughout the space ,” she says .

It ’ s no surprise that guests respond strongly to many aspects of their experience at the Wellhouse . The atmosphere is , of course , designed to be as calm and relaxing as possible , and that extends well beyond the treatment rooms . In particular , guests enjoy the curated selection of intentional products in the retail area , curated and sourced to be authentic to Blackberry Farm . Upstairs in the treatment area , the hanging beds in the spa ’ s Tranquility Lounge are a favorite of guests seeking to embrace the mindful moments of peace following a treatment .
Get Juiced

Another guest favorite is the spa ’ s juice bar , which features a seasonally appropriate array of fruits and vegetables and targets wellness concerns that align with the time of year . The juice bar offers options to provide support for any type of visit — rehydrating after a treatment , nourishing before a workout or refreshing for time spent relaxing in the sun .

A Unique Experience

Because Blackberry Farm tailors their wellness programming to the individual , each guest ’ s experience at the Wellhouse is unique . Guests entering the Wellhouse are greeted by the spa coordinator or retail specialist and given an introduction to the facility , including details about the retail space and Blackberry Farm ’ s signature Wellhouse line . “ Enjoying time at the Wellhouse is about relaxing and feeling completely welcome to embrace your individual experience ,” says Meredith Crawford , brand manager at Blackberry Farm . “ Before a treatment , guests can utilize the steam showers if they desire , put on a robe in the locker room , and begin their experience in the relaxation lounge … before their therapists guides them to the their treatment room .”
