FROM YOUR CHAIRMAN
WITH THE ISPA CONFERENCE
2022 right around the corner in May , we will be formally introducing the newly elected members of ISPA Board of Directors to the ISPA community . Six years ago , I had the honor of having my name and picture pop up on the screen in the General Session when my first term started . It was such a thrill to have the opportunity to step up and serve our incredible members while helping ISPA pursue its mission to elevate the spa industry . I actually wore a suit that day of the conference ! It ’ s been an amazing and eventful six years , spent working alongside so many amazing people . So much life has happened , so much has changed , so much has been accomplished .
It is with a similar sense of excitement that think about the exceptional slate of new board members you will be meeting in a few months . I can ’ t help but wonder what the journey of their board service will be . ( One thing I can promise it will not be ? Boring .)
When we started the nominations process this year , we did not know what sort of interest level to expect given the uncertain times we have experienced for two years . I am happy to say that we had record numbers of incredible people raise their hand to support our membership and our industry . It ’ s an encouraging sign for the health of both our association and the industry that so many talented people sought to volunteer their time , expertise and hearts to support us , their colleagues in the world of spa .
Of course , board service is far from the only way to make valuable contributions , and any member inspired to lend their support is encouraged to do so by volunteering for a task force , contributing funds or auction items to the ISPA Foundation , writing an article for Pulse or attending an event and letting your voice be heard .
As we continue to forge ahead , the industry will need the energy of all of us to thrive and continue to be a source of health , healing and inspiration for the world .
