Cannabis in Spa
Many people, particularly those who are invested in the
pursuit of natural health and wellness, are beginning to hear
about the many benefits of cannabis. CBD-infused spa
products are gaining popularity, as CBD oil is proven to
provide topical benefits for the skin.

(CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). While THC has been

the plant, CBD has been described as an “anti-inflammatory
powerhouse.” It is accredited with calming and soothing
sensitive skin, as well as helping to treat acne, eczema and
rosacea, while maintaining the skin’s lipid balance.
Research from Ream of Caring (a cannabinoid research
nonprofit) has shown that CBD has a plethora of physio-
logical benefits. It will generally act to promote homeostasis
in the body, situationally reducing inflammation, decreasing
blood pressure and even killing cancer cells. Several studies
have also revealed that CBD is a multi-target therapy that has
a wide range of health benefits.
Despite the plant’s bad reputation for being a mood-
altering substance, it has many other uses that are gaining
momentum in the wellness community. Cannabis can be
used for fuel, clothing, food, medicine and skincare. The
deeply-rooted stigma of cannabis appears to be diminishing
by the day as people are starting to understand its healing
properties. More and more consumers are wanting it in their
skin care creams, face masks, anti-aging products and lip
balm. This trend is eminent, not because of the hype, but
because of the impressive results.
CBD-oil products were frequently touted by ISPA
members as a defining trend of 2018.
