t is often hard to ask for help, especially when you are considered to be “the leader.”
Are we not supposed to know “everything” already? After all, we are the leaders of our
industry, right? Not a chance!
We need to set aside our egos and find experts whom we could ask for advice,
thoughts and ideas to help us innovate, support personal growth and the growth of our
businesses as well as our industry. To be surrounded by experts and resources that can
support our success is what makes our association so valuable. As you can tell from
the 2016 ISPA Conference & Expo, we are part of a loving community willing and

spaces to stay connected with your ISPA peers. Ask questions, identify experts and build a
stronger community. Look for other great articles like in this “How-To Issue” of Pulse magazine
in order to leverage the featured experts’ insights.
Now, it’s my turn to ask for help. Help me and the ISPA Board find ways to grow our
association, our industry and our future. The larger we become as a group, the more influence
we can command to support the great things we do every day to touch the lives of others.
United, we can keep driving meaningful initiatives and programs. We need all spa leaders to
be involved. Neither I nor the ISPA Board can accomplish this alone, we need your help.
Encourage all spa leaders you know to become members, talk to vendors and ask them—
if they are not members—to become ISPA members.
Finally, connect with me or a member on the ISPA Board on Facebook and LinkedIn. I would
love to be able to get to know you, learn from you and ask you questions. After all, I have no
problem asking for help, especially when I know I am surrounded by experts.
