IT IS WITH BOTH PRIDE AND
EXCITEMENT that I and the entire ISPA team have watched generous donors provide item after item for the 2021 ISPA Foundation Spring Auction being held from May 4 – 14 . We ’ re still more than a month away from the auction ’ s start date , but the items committed so far have a combined retail value of more than $ 25,000 . Of course , we trust that this figure will increase considerably by the time bidding goes live just a handful of weeks from now , and we can ’ t wait to share the full slate of auction items soon . We ’ re off to an amazing start though , having already received donations ranging from decked-out spa product gift baskets and coast-to-coast hotel retreats to a portable
massage table and an iPhone 12 !
Just as with the Holiday Auction we held near the end of 2020 , the 2021 ISPA Foundation Spring Auction will be conducted via Handbid , a convenient app that allows users to place bids ( including a maximum bid limit on any item ), track their most coveted items and even receive notifications when new high bids have been placed — an especially handy feature for the more competitive among us ! The Holiday Auction was a huge success , raising more than $ 20,000 for the ISPA Foundation , but we ’ re confident that we can blow that figure out of the water this spring . To help us do that , spread the word ! Remember , anyone can bid on our auction items .
Of course , the real success of the ISPA Foundation Spring Auction won ' t be measured by the numbers of cool items bidders get to take home , but the amount of good we can do with the funds we raise . One-hundred percent of the proceeds from these auctions fund not only the industry-leading research the ISPA Foundation conducts with PricewaterhouseCoopers ( the latest results of which will be revealed during the Stronger Together Summit , by the way ), but scholarship opportunities and other initiatives that continue to elevate our industry and help us chart the way forward as we recover from the pandemic .
