Economics: Recently, Tanzania has been ramping up regulation of the fishing industry in an effort to make it sustainable. This June, it confiscated around 100 kilogrammes of Tilapia they deemed underdeveloped and “immature” (i.e. not meant to be caught so early in their lives).

Culture: The Columbian Global Centre recently hosted a festival in the former Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam meant to celebrate Tanzanian music, community service, and other examples of general cultural development.

Politics: The government has succeeded in getting its $144 billion tax cut through the lower house. Analysts argue this cut had the biggest benefit on high income earners.

Economics: A new study has found that TNCs move around $16 billion worth of Australian profit into tax havens every year.

Culture: A group of animal activists have been slammed for their raid on a chicken farm that resulted in the kidnapping and subsequent death of several chickens.
