Culture: The politically-charged Grammys saw Kendrick Lamar open the show alongside Bono and the Edge, as he performed a medley of his songs, and later on in the show, Hillary Clinton emerged among various stars who did a mock audition for the audiobook version of “Fire and Fury”.

Economics: Canadian inflation dipped below 2% after a December surge, with telephone costs dropping 7.6% after a recent price war.

Culture: Two Canadians are being held in the conservative nation of Cambodia for “dancing pornographically” as the result of a party in a rented villa in a town located close to legendary Buddhist temple Angkor Wat.

MEXICO

Politics: Protests have erupted in Mexico city after 17-year-old Marco Antonio Sanchez disappeared, he was last seen being arrested by police on Tuesday the 23rd of January.

Economics: The Mexican Peso has been projected to be the world’s best-performing currency during the first half of 2018, although a new Mexican president with a new leadership style could affect these projections.

Culture: Notorious drug kingpin El Chapo is trying to prove his innocence by promising he will not order any of the jurors from his trial killed.

VENEZUELA

Economy: Venezuela is attempting to float its own oil-backed cryptocurrency, and investors are not buying it.

Culture: Food shortages are fueling looting and increased violence across the country.
