After six years in Shanghai, Baltimore-born artist Abby Fitzgibbon is moving back Stateside, but not before using the streets of Shanghai as a backdrop for one last project. “iHate Your Phone” is a commentary on smart phone distraction and its effect on face-to-face human connection: ? “I’ve been to dinners where everyone looked at their phones more than at each other. People get so caught up in cultivating online personas that they’re failing to live in 3D. It makes you wonder if people are doing things for the experience, or so they can show other people that they’ve had the experience.” ? The full project and many others can be seen on her website abbyfitzgibbon.com
