hiatus. This time, local favorite Bee Taylor, the Nashville-based songstress who has made numerous appearances in Somerset at venues including Festival Field, will be performing with the Lexington Philharmonic String Quartet, part of the Lexington, Ky.-based orchestral organization.

This year’ s Classical Night will take place on Thursday, July 16th at The Virginia Theater in downtown Somerset, where Taylor recently received the Light of Somerset Award from Somerset Mayor Alan Keck. Separate tickets for this performance went on sale in January.

Another couple of acts Finley was excited about are The Creekers and Cigarettes @ Sunset.

of shows in Kentucky next year, and they wanted to make sure that Master Musicians Festival was one of those, because they just appreciate the local independent music scene in Kentucky that they kind of came up in.... They’ re not going to pick some festival in another state over us. They want it to be one of their home shows.”

Cigarettes @ Sunset is a five-piece band out of North Carolina that plays a style referred to as“ Possum Rock,” heavily influenced by their Appalachian roots. Ironically, that rustic style is contrasted by their popularity on modern social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

“ They’ re kind of like if Tyler Childers and emo( the musical genre) got together,” said Finley.“... Their shows are really high energy, young kids, so it’ s going to be cool.”
