Downtown Somerset is an assortment of brightlycolored buildings and a soft glow from decorative lighting. Over the past decade, revitalizing the city’ s heart has been a central priority for town leaders. Somerset is experiencing a boom in small-business growth in the arts & entertainment sector. This renaissance, propelled by the city’ s mission to have offerings for both tourists and locals, improves the quality of life for citizens and solidifies the town as a must-see spot in southern Kentucky. Somerset is now home to multiple seasonal, free festivals, a restored Virginia Theater, and a collection of walkable, locallyowned bars and entertainment venues, making the nightlife scene vibrant.
The Tipsy Toad Inside The Mole Hole: Sip & Shop!
Residing near the town square fountain is an eclectic shop named“ The Mole Hole”. Inside, visitors will find unique gifts, home decor, artisan chocolates, and a bar area known as“ The Tipsy Toad."
Owner Tammy Martin Hoehler encourages guests to browse the store. At the same time, they drink and feel at ease, creating a vibe unlike that of traditional drinking establishments.
“ We are not a typical bar," she said. " We are quaint and cozy, a place that is safe for women or people who are uncomfortable in other places."
For a night on the town, guests are recommended to start their journey at The Tipsy Toad for predinner drinks and snacks, as the shop typically closes in the early evening. However, certain special events, such as New Year ' s Eve, local festivals, or other occasions, may pop up to extend operating hours.
The Mole Hole and The Tipsy Toad are both active on social media, posting upcoming specials and shout-outs.
