new to the baking industry. The Winter Haven Florida native began her career at the age of 17 as a cake decorator for Winn Dixie.
And for more than 40 years she continued to bake and decorate and deliver custom cakes to friends and others in Florida and after moving to Nancy in 2000.
After the Covid pandemic, four years ago she quit making the custom cakes and instead built the small, refrigerated shop and the end of her driveway and began making a wide variety of individually wrapped and packaged baked goods.
Visitors to the shop will find it chock full of beautiful, mouth watering offerings including a variety of cake pops, brownies, multiple kinds of cookies, caramel apples, peanut butter and chocolate no bake cookies, buckeyes, potato candy and small cakes.
Cabela’ s has offerings for every holiday including delicious dipped strawberries and heartshaped cakes for Valentines Day and holiday flavored treats for Christmas.
With the stock always being rotated with new
additions you never know what will be waiting to entice you on each visit.

antique shops in the Lake Cumberland area. Sisters by Fate at Duke’ s Place occupies a 1940 farmhouse at 1805 Hwy. 235 just a halfmile past the Zollicoffer Park Civil War site.
Owners Sandra and
Cathy Chapman are not biological sisters. The two married brothers, lived next door to each other and have known each other for more than 50 years.
Both loved antiquing and thrifting and long talked about opening a shop together and four years ago when it became a reality, Sisters by Fate was the perfect description of their relationship.
The farmhouse belonged to Sandra’ s grandparents and with both living next door, it was the perfect location for their shop.
The unassuming black and white exterior of the two-story building gives no clue to the beauty and tranquility that you will encounter inside.
When you step in the door it feels like stepping inside someone’ s home. It’ s warm and inviting with its original wooden ceilings, floors and trim made from trees that were cut by Sandra’ s grandfather on the farm and cut into lumber on a one-mansawmill in the yard.
The antiques inside feel like they should be there. Some of the original furniture was kept in its original position inside
