" For the next year , we were shipping doughnuts all over the country ," said Stephens . " People were calling from Texas , Virginia , Oregon , Nova Scotia ."
After a while , the
buzz " died down ," said Stephens , but that was okay — the taste of the big time was sometimes too big a bite to chew . " Something we did okay ( shipping the product ) and sometimes it was beginning to be more of a logistics problem ," said Stephens . " We decided not to push that ."
They did keep their baked good mobile
however , using catering trucks to take Amon ' s products out in the community in the days before the food truck craze . But of course , despite being a business constantly in motion , the core of Amon ' s business has remained quite grounded -- the simple
stuff rules .
" The glazed doughnut ," said Stephens matter-offactly when asked what they sell more of than anything else . " We sell more glazed doughnuts than anything else ." That said , " my personal favorite is our cream cheese pastries ."
