friend ; what is billed as one of the largest lazy rivers in Kentucky ; the 20,000-square-foot wave pool ; the wading pool for the park ' s smallest visitors ; and the kiddie play area , which features sprayers , waterfalls , small slides and a bucket that routinely fills and tips over to dump water out all over guests .
For those who want to enjoy the outdoors in the colder temperatures , SomerSplash has added a Winter Wonderland to the park ' s repertoire . In 2022 , the park brought in an ice rink , themed decorations , fire pits and hot chocolate , calling it Tiki ' s Winter Wonderland .
The experiment proved to be popular , and this past season continued
to see attendance build , Sims said .
" It was a great season overall . ... Everyone was surprised with their decorations . We just keep adding more and more lights for the decorations ," he said .
In fact , there are those who come by just to look at how the park is dressed up for the winter , not even venturing onto the rink at all , he said .
Sims said that he is pleased with the way the water park has been able to serve the area as a form of winter entertainment . " We wanted to give locals something to do in the wintertime instead of just being open through the summer ," he said .
