Those are only some of the notable names who have graced the MMF stage over the years . But the thing is , for all the great headliners the festival has enjoyed bringing to Somerset , the heart of MMF may reside in those acts who take the audience by surprise .
" It doesn ' t matter who the artists are . You ' re going to come , you ' re going to fall in love with bands that you never even knew were out there ," said Finley .
In its second year , MMF moved to Pulaski County Park , and in 1997 , on to SomerSport Park , and and

finally in 2005 found its current location at Somerset Community College , amongst a picturesque sylvan glade that has come to be known as " Festival Field ." It ' s the perfect venue for the event , and as the sun goes down behind the trees and the crowd packs in for the weekend ' s headlining act , the scene has made for many unforgettable experiences for countless attendees .

Master Musicians Festival may belong to this community , but it ' s making its mark on a much wider map , and helping put Somerset on the music world ' s map .
" I ' ve been in this position of executive director for a year-and-a-half now — it ' s my full-time job now ," said Finley , who also serves as this year ' s president of the Somerset- Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce . " It ' s allowing me and the board to focus on bigger picture items , building our brand not only across Kentucky but hopefully across America , across the southeast

United States . " We know our story , we love our story , but are excited to get our story out to the rest of the world ," she added . " We ' re just trying to hone in on what makes our event special and stand out .
