Pulaski County Park stands alone among the many recreational options in the Lake Cumberland area .
Operated by Pulaski County Government on 804 acres of U . S . Army Corps of Engineers land , the park bridges the gap between the amenities offered by municipal parks and the adventure feel of state or national parks .
The great outdoors await down a winding road off West Ky . 80 , just before entering the Nancy community . The county has developed approximately 60 acres on a largely flat bottom across from Fishing Creek Recreation Area , where the lake opens to a particularly wide expanse ideal for boating and kayaking .

launching as well as a whitesand beach with courtesy dock for swimming , sunbathing and even fishing . Frequent catches include striped bass , large-and smallmouth bass , walleye , crappie , bluegill and spoonbill catfish .
For those seeking their thrills on dry land , there ' s no shortage of other things to do at the park .
Visitors can take advantage of seven shelters of varying sizes that can be rented for group gatherings , or more than 20 individual picnic spots outfitted with grills and tables . Near the park ' s entrance is a large field ideal for games like volleyball as well as playground and exercise equipment .
