" Finally , Flashback gives the community a connection to outside perspectives and intellectual discourse ," said Schoch . " I make an effort to produce well-known shows from the established theater canon , but also include newer works that are getting regionally produced across the country , all in addition to the new work from our local playwrights , so that our audiences can see a variety of perspectives and think about the roles we each play on a local , national , and even world scale ."

artists , finding more ways to meaningfully engage with the community , and appealing to different types of audiences to help nurture a stable and long-lasting presence in Somerset .
The ongoing 2021- 22 season includes two productions coming up — " Mary : Her Story " by FbTC veteran actor Amber Frangos , about Mary , the mother of Jesus , and " American Parade " by longtime Somerset Community College theatre director Steve Cleberg — to be held in May and July respectively .
" Both are by local playwrights , so I am excited to get their work on the Flashback stage ," said Schoch .
