Etymology: Named after the type locality specimen
from Rio Tuyra, Boca de Cupe, Panama.
Common name: Mojarra (Panama)
Size: Males attain sizes of 25 cm/ 10 “. Females are
smaller.
Distribution: Endemic to Panama on the Pacific slope
(Tuyra and Bayano River basins), notably the Rio
Nicanor.
