  LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS BOARD (LESB) INSTRUCTOR CLASS LESB Basic Instructor Development This course prepares criminal justice instructor candidates to create a learning environment that supports learners. Competencies include planning and managing learning, training and evaluation methods, and delivering teaching scenarios. This curriculum is endorsed by the Law Enforcement Standards Board and is required of instructors seeking LESB certification. This is a pre-requisite course for all LESB-approved specialized training courses. LESB DAAT Instructor This course prepares Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) certified officers to effectively administer and teach the DAAT training program. This course emphasizes teaching and learning techniques that promote active learning, support learners with a variety of learning preferences and needs and generate continuous improvements in teaching and learning. The goal of this program is to prepare certified officers who are proficient in using DAAT techniques to deliver the LESB-approved DAAT curriculum. LESB EVOC Instructor This course prepares LESB certified officers to effectively administer and teach the Emergency Vehicle Operations and Control (EVOC) training program. This course emphasizes teaching and learning techniques that promote active learning, supporting learners with a variety of learning preferences and needs and generate continuous improvements in teaching and learning. The goal of this program is to prepare certified officers who are proficient in driving a vehicle under emergency conditions to deliver the LESB-approved EVOC curriculum. LESB Firearms Instructor This course trains instructor candidates in the theory and hands- on skill development techniques of firearms instruction. This class includes the development, conducting, and evaluation of teaching and testing isolation exercises and scenarios utilizing non-lethal training ammunition. Instructor candidates will develop skills to provide officers the training experience necessary for successful deployment of the semiautomatic pistol, and a continuous program of skill improvement, combined with a working and defensible knowledge of the use of force rules. LESB Less Lethal Instructor This course will provide the student with qualified instructor training in the use of less-lethal intervention options including kinetic energy impact munitions, chemical agents and noise/flash diversionary devices (flash-bangs). New and experienced instructors will benefit from this program by being exposed to various deployment systems and scenario applications. LESB Principles of Subject Control (POSC) Instructor In this course, students will learn the basic conceptual framework and physical skills to be instructors of Principles of Subject Control (POSC), which is the system for proper use of force in a correctional setting. LESB Professional Communications Instructor This course deals with developing effective communication tactics for dealing with the public, your clientele, and fellow staff members (e.g., supervisors, peers, and subordinates) and other professionals. LESB Scenario Instructor This course, taught by a scenario master instructor trainer, prepares instructor candidates for certification as LESB scenario instructor. Participants will learn scenario training, testing and force-on-force safety and training techniques. LESB SFST Instructor This course prepares law enforcement professionals to effectively administer and teach the Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicat- ed (OMVWI)/Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) training program. This course emphasizes techniques that support active learning, various learning preferences and needs, and continuous improvement in teaching/learning. LESB Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for Law Enforcement Officers (TECCLEO) Instructor Instructor candidates will be familiarized with safety protocols for teaching and testing scenarios and exercises through discussion of common student tactical and medical errors. LESB Tactical Response Instructor This course, taught by a master instructor trainer, prepares instructor candidates for certification as a tactical response instructor. LESB Tactical Rifle/Sub Gun Instructor This course prepares firearm instructors to carry and instruct the tactical rifle with a major emphasis on operational techniques for the tactical rifle in drills, shooting exercises and realistic scenario training. LESB Vehicle Contacts Instructor This course prepares LESB-certified officers to effectively administer and teach the vehicle contacts training program. This course emphasizes teaching and learning techniques that promote active learning, support learners with a variety of learning preferences and needs and generate continuous improvements in teaching and learning.
