EVOC
This course covers the following topics: recognizing areas of pursuit
liability; identifying key pursuit conduct indicators deemed
historically significant by the courts; identifying tactics used during
pursuits and where they fall in the intervention options; reviewing
case law resulting from vehicle pursuits; reviewing current policy
and training standards on vehicle pursuits.
Legal Update
This course provides an update to changes in the law through either
legislative or court actions.
Reactive Knife Defense
Reactive Knife Defense (RKD) is designed to train participants
against sudden assaults with an edged weapon and can also be
used to defend against shanks, clubs, and empty hands attacks. This
course is designed to give officers an in-depth, hands-on experience
with principles and concepts dealing with edged weapons defense. It
covers different drills and exercises designed to develop spontaneity
in reacting to an unexpected attack. “Use of Force” issues is also
covered.
Room Clearing
As policing is evolving rapidly, we as officers must prepare and
train for the violent and deadly encounters taking place across the
country. This course is geared towards officers who are looking to
improve their tactical skills in building searches, room clearing,
barricaded subjects, and team concept situations. Officers will have
an opportunity to evaluate and assess their skills through numerous
high risk, ambush, and sudden assault situations. Active shooter
discussions and exercises will also be integrated into this course.
Shield/Breaching/Room Entry Tactics
for the Patrol Officer
As we have entered the 21 st century we are seeing many incidents
that require an immediate response from the officer on patrol.
This has led to agencies equipping squad cars with breaching
equipment and shields. This eight-hour course will cover various
techniques and applications of using shields, breaching tactics and
room entry geared for the patrol officer.
Tactics for Patrol and Barricaded Subjects
As policing is evolving rapidly, officers must prepare and train for
the violent and deadly encounters taking place across the country.
This course is geared towards officers who are looking to review or
improve their tactical skills in building searches, room clearing,
barricaded subjects, and team concept situations. Course content
will also include a dynamic look at barricaded subjects and patrol
response to high-risk situations. This class will utilize isolation
exercises and high-level force on force scenarios to implement the
course content into a real-world application.

Tactical Rifle for the Patrol Officer
This training has been designed to reinforce the officer’s ability to
utilize their patrol rifle and handgun. Officers will review their
fundamental weapon skills and techniques through numerous
repetitions and drills to develop, improve, and enhance their skill
level and confidence. Officers who complete this class will be better
prepared to operate and use their weapons while utilizing other
various techniques to handle and control a variety of situations they
may encounter daily.
Team Tactics for Patrol
This course will expose patrol officers whose agencies don’t have
SWAT teams to basic team tactics including operations and response
planning, team structure and movement, resolution of barricaded
suspect situations, active shooter situations, searches and room
clearing, less-lethal options, use of armored vehicles, and breaching.
LESB TRAINING ACADEMIES
Basic Jail Officer Academy
This academy is specifically designed for officers who are either
currently employed or wish to be certified for employment in
corrections. Upon completion of this training, students will understand
basic correctional practices and jail operational procedures. The
Academy is certified by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards
Board (LESB). All curriculum presented meets or exceeds the
required standards of the Training and Standards Board. This training
is eligible for reimbursement by the Wisconsin Department of Justice
Training and Standards Bureau for sponsored jail officers who
qualify under DOJ rules.
720-hour Law Enforcement Academy
Students learn the skills of modern-day law enforcement in this full-
time, 18-week program designed to produce thoroughly-competent
and confident officers. Graduates of this program begin their careers
with an unparalleled level of professionalism through a learner-
centered approach via application of scenario-based training. Your
career opportunities include police officer, deputy sheriff, DNR
officer, state trooper, military law enforcement officer, and private
investigator. This 720-hour program is designed for individuals with
60 college credits at an associate degree level or higher, or who are
currently employed with a sponsoring law enforcement agency. This
program meets the criteria set by the Wisconsin Department of
Justice, Training and Standards Bureau.
