Hernando Audubon Birding Trip to Big Pine Tract of Chinsegut Wildlife and Environmental Area , Saturday , June 1 . At 7:30 a . m . meet in the parking lot at 12060 Old Crystal River Road . The entrance to the Big Pine Tract is 1 mile north of the intersection of U . S . 41 and Old Crystal River Road , just north of Brooksville . Along the 1.5 mile trail , expect to see Great Crested Flycatchers , Red-headed Woodpeckers , American Kestrels , etc . There is a rest room , but no drinking water .
