Cate Anevski is an artist, Illustrator, and maker extraordinaire living in Portland, OR. She works in a variety of media, from watercolors to woodburning, to pursue her goal of sharing her surreal version of the world. Cate shows her work in many galleries in Portland as well as her hometown of St. Louis, including Cranky Yellow, Art St. Louis, Chesterfield Arts, and Star Clipper. She is looking to expand her range around the world, the first step of which has been to show work in the Cultural Center of Villeurbanne in Lyon, France, where she lived from 1997–1998. Cate obtained a Bachelors of Arts in graphic design from Loyola University, Chicago, in 2005, but decided shortly afterwards to switch her focus to fine arts in order to express her personal vision. Her next goals include expanding into the world of literature, starting a small gentlelady's farm, and learning the violin. In the meantime, she fills her days with illustration and other creations, which you can follow along at her blog.
