The brutal Syrian civil war which began in March 2011 is the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world and of mass destruction in the 21st century. The devastating occurrence in Syria has resulted to so much loss and destruction that hearts tremble hearing the horrific stories. We all question why it has reached to such an extent.

How did it all start? The civil war in Syria erupted part of Arab Spring uprisings in the Middle East from conflicted democratically views between the locals and the regime. An uprising began ultimately by protesting to gain democracy and greater freedom. However, when the government decided to open fire on peaceful demonstrations, the civilians demanded that the President, Bashar al-Assad resigned but he refused to step down.

The violence rooted further and Bashar al-Assad offered to make some changes in the way he ran the country but the protestors didn’t believe him. There isn’t a concise group of rebels united against the President.
