Don ' t miss Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Oct. 11
Looking for a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of hazardous household waste and unwanted chemicals?
The City of Port St. Lucie invites residents to participate in its bi-annual Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. This event is for City of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County residents. Valid IDs are required for participation.
The event is 8 a. m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Public Works Facility, 450 SW Thornhill Drive.
Residents may drop off items such as insecticides, electronics, drain cleaners, fire extinguishers, fluorescent bulbs and tubes and fuel. Cooking fats, oils and grease in containers of less than 5 gallons also will be accepted. This service is limited to household waste only; commercial, institutional and agricultural sources are not eligible.
For safety, participants must remain in their vehicles. Volunteers will assist with unloading items at no cost.
Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful has hosted this event for 18 years, helping residents properly dispose of hazardous materials while promoting environmental stewardship and community pride.

• Fats, oil and grease( F. O. G.)- container must be 5 gallons or less
This event makes it easy for Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County residents( IDs required) to get rid of their unwanted household chemicals and hazardous waste.
