Walk this way!
Over the past several weeks, CRA staff provided multiple walking tours through The Port District site, highlighting the Pioneer Park playground, The Event Lawn and the future restaurant site. Tour groups then made their way down to the North Fork of the St. Lucie River near the iconic banyan tree and viewed the overwater stage, boardwalk, canoe launch and floating docks.
CRA staff provided information on the other amenities located nearby, including the Botanical Gardens, the Port St. Lucie Historical Society’ s History Museum and Education Center and the future Preserve Tract Trail. Recent“ tourists” included those enrolled in City University Class No. 15 as well as local hoteliers on Visit St. Lucie’ s Familiarization Tour.
A road less traveled... for now!
Construction on the final segment of Tom Mackie Boulevard and Marshall Parkway, east of SW Village Parkway, is well underway. The $ 8.5 million infrastructure project is partially funded by an American Rescue Plan Act( ARPA) Grant and a State Appropriations Grant and will provide much-needed infrastructure for the Southern Grove Jobs Corridor.
The spine road, with an anticipated completion in early 2026, will connect with Anthony F. Sansone Sr. Boulevard within the Jobs Corridor and provide a dedicated travel route for commercial vehicles, keeping a majority of the truck traffic off SW Village Parkway.
