Caribbean American Cultural Group annual banquet
The Caribbean American Cultural Group Ball was back again Sept. 5 at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, where members and nonmembers enjoyed cocktails, a formal dinner and entertainment.
The event began with greetings from group president Dawn Bloomfield and was guided by Mistress of Ceremonies Faye Linton. The program included awards for Terissa Aronson, President and CEO of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce, and community partner awards for John Cesar and Maxine Hinds.
Guests also enjoyed a cultural fashion show featuring attire representing Africa, Haiti, Jamaica and the United States. The annual ball plans to return for its 43rd gala next year.
Annual Bacon, BBQ and Craft Fair
Residents of Port St. Lucie brought their appetites( and shopping bags!) to the Event Center on Sept. 26-27 as the Port St Lucie Bacon and BBQ Festival and the Port St Lucie Fall Craft Fair came back to town.
Inside, shoppers found a grand assortment of artists and crafters from all over the state selling a variety of fall and holiday themed items. Outside, it was a foodie ' s dream come true with finger-licking barbecue, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and mouth-watering bacon dishes, like bacon ice cream, chocolate-covered bacon, bacon and bourbon brownies, tasty libations and live entertainment. The beautiful weather brought out a large crowd of shoppers and barbecue lovers alike!
The festival will return in September 2027!
