Office of Emergency Management strengthens hurricane readiness through tabletop exercise
The City of Port St. Lucie Office of Emergency Management recently conducted a hurricane tabletop exercise for the Emergency Operations Center( EOC) activation staff, reinforcing the City’ s ongoing commitment to preparedness and resilience. It brought together key City departments and response partners to discuss what actions may be required, while focusing on coordination, communication and decision making during a hurricane event.
The tabletop exercise was designed to mirror real-world conditions and allows EOC staff to discuss their roles and responsibilities, test procedures and identify opportunities for improvement before an actual emergency occurs. Participants discussed operational priorities such as situational awareness, resource management, public information and supporting field operations, ensuring the City is ready to respond efficiently and effectively.
By routinely training and exercising, the City continues to strengthen its ability to protect residents before, during and after a storm. If you would like to review more emergency preparedness guidance, visit www. cityofpsl. com / em.
