The playing conditions on the golf course continue to improve under the leadership of our course Superintendent Mark Gerstung and his crew. Last month, his team did a full-course aerification and with the amount of rain we ' ve been receiving, the course is responding nicely, in particularly, the definition in the fairways and rough.
The Saints Golf Course
The Saints Golf Course continues to be very busy, considering it ' s the " off season " and it ' s been extremely warm. Our weekly Men ' s League has been averaging around 80 players per week and we are averaging 180 players per day.
We continue to break monthly records in rounds played and revenue. The driving range has been doing well with the improvements we have made and the golfers are enjoying practicing under the new owning.
The Saints volunteers have been doing a great job keeping up with the additional play and guests on the driving range, especially with the hot weather. We appreciate the hard work all our volunteers do for the operation and would not be able to run an efficient operation without them.
We have added four additional range pickers( they keep the range cleared of all the practice balls) to keep up with volume on the driving range.
The XGD company is in the process of finishing a month-long bunker renovation on 14 bunkers that required drainage, reshaping and new sand. The golfers are happy to see the work being done which has been long overdue.
Congratulations to Bill Klimacek from our Men ' s League for having made two holes in one during July! The first hole in one was on July 1 when he used a 6 hybrid club on the par 3 16th hole and again on the 7th hole July 22. This is an amazing feat considering that some golfers go a lifetime without making a hole in one.
