Celebrate America ' s 250th birthday at Port St. Lucie ' s Freedomfest
As Port St. Lucie joins the nation in celebrating America’ s 250th birthday, the City invites families, friends and neighbors to come together for Freedomfest, an evening filled with music, community spirit and holiday traditions.
Presented by Port St. Lucie Sports Club, Freedomfest is 5-9 p. m. Saturday, July 4 at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, 9221 SE Event Center Place. The event is free.
This year, Freedomfest showcases a high‐energy live performance by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Max Weinberg, longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteen and the former musical director for“ The Tonight Show with Conan O’ Brien.” Guests will be able to choose classic hits from a list of 200 songs, as the band plays selections live. Local favorites Girlfriend Material will set the tone as the opening act.
Throughout the event, enjoy star-spangled fun in the kids’ zone and in the History Hall of Faces, a fun photo area where guests can pose as famous historical figures using life-size cut-outs. There will be food trucks, a marketplace, photo opportunities and much more.
At 9 p. m., festivities continue with the Luna Lites Drone Show, an innovative aerial spectacle display unlike anything Port St. Lucie has seen before, followed by a vibrant fireworks display from Zambelli Fireworks International.
