National Public Works Week
Each May, communities across the nation come together to celebrate National Public Works Week, shining a spotlight on the essential services and innovations that keep our cities running smoothly. This year’ s theme,“ Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” reflects the deep commitment of Public Works teams to building vibrant neighborhoods where residents can thrive.
The Public Works Department plays a vital role in shaping our community, from the visible work of road construction to the often unseen but equally important maintenance of underground infrastructure. Every project, whether highly noticeable or quietly foundational, strengthens the connection between dedicated service and the people it benefits. These ongoing efforts lay the groundwork for a flourishing city, ensuring residents enjoy safety, convenience, and opportunity.
During National Public Works Week, Mayor Shannon Martin honored the department with a special proclamation, recognizing the dedication and hard work of our employees. Staff members also attended a training and appreciation event, celebrating their contributions and commitment to continuous improvement. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all Public Works professionals who work tirelessly every day to enhance our community and make Port St. Lucie a better place to live.
