Council tentatively approves FY 2025-26 capital budget
The Office of Management and Budget presented the five-year Capital Improvement Program( CIP) for Fiscal Years 2026-2035 to City Council on May 19.
The CIP is designed to support long-term planning for essential projects, including facility upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, road improvements and park developments. Reviewed and updated annually, the CIP ensures that all proposed projects align with the City’ s Strategic Plan.
The first year of the Five-Year Plan, also known as the proposed capital budget, include 82 capital projects with an estimated investment of $ 275 million. Funding for these projects comes from traditional revenue sources such as ad valorem taxes, gas taxes, park impact fees, sales tax, user fees and mobility fees.
Additionally, stormwater projects within the plan are funded through Stormwater Operating revenues. For FY 2025-26, the proposed CIP includes eight key capital projects, totaling approximately $ 53 million. This investment represents a continued commitment to enhancing the City’ s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
Stay tuned for updates as the City works to bring these initiatives to life. For more information, visit www. cityofpsl. com / budget.
