City to temporarily allow for additional yard waste collection
After a cold snap locally in February and parts of March, many residents are seeing wilted leaves, browned fronds and fallen branches in their yards.
Clearing this debris is essential to keeping neighborhoods safe, storm‐ready and preventing blockages in the City’ s drainage system.
To help residents manage the extra debris, the City of Port St. Lucie’ s Office of Solid Waste will increase the weekly quantity of yard waste limit to a maximum of 6 cubic yards curbside from March 30-April 24, 2026. This allows each household to place 50 % more yard waste curbside than usual.
There will be no additional cost to residents.
This will allow up to 6 cubic yards to be collected during this time, which is roughly the size of three washer‐and‐dryer sets placed side by side.
