Glades hosts Del Webb
The Economics Club at the Del Webb 55 + retirement community in Tradition requested tours of the Glades Wastewater Treatment Plant for more than 40 members to learn about the process.
Participants had access to the control room and laboratory, where they saw microorganisms, the helpful bacteria that break down the waste, under the microscope. They toured the headworks, aeration basins, clarifiers and sludge building to see the treatment process up close.
Special thanks to tour guide Luke Hall, as well as David Batchelor and Todd Gray for providing extra support, plus Mario Barkmeier and Jordan Jenkins, who went above and beyond to stay with a couple, one of which was wheelchair-bound, and explain every part of the plant. We appreciate all you do for our residents!
