HIGHLIGHT
Eager to make a positive impact in PSL? Become a City Ambassador!
The City of Port St. Lucie is launching a new initiative for residents who are passionate about their community and want to cultivate a deeper connection with the City.
The City Ambassador Program empowers graduates of Port St. Lucie’ s popular City University to help share important information, engage with the community and support City initiatives. Ambassadors will serve as a bridge between the government and the public, ensuring residents are well informed and their voices heard.
City University graduates interested in becoming a City Ambassador are encouraged to attend an information session at 5:30 p. m. Wednesday, April 16 in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd. RSVP is requested but not required at www. cityofpsl. com / ambassador.
As a City Ambassador, residents will:
• Receive regular updates from City staff about projects and initiatives
• Share important updates and information into their own networks, community groups and neighborhoods
• Gather feedback from residents and relay it to City officials
• Participate in City events and volunteer opportunities
• Help foster a positive image of the City through various outreach activities
City University is a free nine-week course that offers a first-hand look into City operations. Since its first class in 2016, more than 600 residents have participated in the program. Inperson sessions are held annually, but there also is an on-demand option available year-round for continuous enrollment. Those interested in becoming a City Ambassador, but have not yet participated in the annual City U session, can take the online course before applying.
For more information about City U, visit www. cityofpsl. com / cityu. Registration opens in July for the next in-person session. For more information, email cityu @ cityofpsl. com or call 772-344-4323.
