Floresta Drive Improvement Project Phase 2
Construction continues for the Floresta Drive Phase 2 Improvement Project . The contractor continues to focus on roadway activities , sidewalks and driveways . The contractor shifted traffic to the east side of the roadway to work on construction on the west side of Floresta Drive .
Damask Avenue at Floresta Drive to Crown Street , and Thornhill Drive from west of Floresta to Fairfield Street are now open to traffic .
Lansdowne Avenue at Floresta Drive to Fairfield Street will remain open to local traffic only . Starting in early April , upcoming closures at Floresta Drive will include Autumn Terrace , Atlantus Avenue and Albatross Avenue . roundabout on Floresta Drive at Polynesian Avenue . The roundabout provides a circular configuration that safely and efficiently moves traffic .
Work continues at Thornhill Lake for required stormwater retention as part of the project . The lake will help provide water quality for protection of the St . Lucie River .
The City urges drivers to be vigilant , patient and slow down while driving through the construction zone . Follow the appropriate detour routes .
The contractor will continue construction on the oval-about starting in late May or early June . This includes lane closures and construction activities from Walters Terrace to Damask Avenue .
Road closures are necessary for drainage pipe installation , road , curb , intersection and sidewalk work . Lane closures and construction activities can be impacted by weather .
The contractor completed construction of a new bridge over the Elkcam waterway that helps accommodate pedestrian and bicycle access with 6-foot sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides . The contractor also constructed a
