With St . Lucie Public Schools on spring break the week of March 18- 23 , PSLPD ’ s Spring Break Traffic Blitz Operation was in full force . PSLPD increased traffic enforcement efforts during the week with a specialized team of officers enforcing speeding , red-light runners and careless , reckless and impaired drivers . Spring Break is when roadway traffic surges because there is no school and an increased number of tourists and visitors are in the area . Unfortunately , this leads to more drivers operating their vehicles in a careless or reckless manner on our roadways and endangering other motorists and pedestrians alike .
Officer Chamberlin , Officer Jackson and Officer Camara brought smiles to the faces of all the children at the Boys & Girls Clubs of St . Lucie County during a special visit to see them . The children had a fantastic time asking questions and exploring our police vehicles . PSLPD is grateful for the opportunity to engage with our community ’ s youth and foster positive relationships !
