Strategic planning brings Parks and Recreation team together
The Parks and Recreation Department meets twice annually for strategic planning staff retreats . The first meeting took place March 20 with a full-day session at Indian River State College ’ s Ken Pruitt Campus . The March strategic planning retreat included teambuilding exercises and much more .
Our facilitator was the iconic and legendary parks and recreation professional , Neelay Bhatt , President / CEO of Next Practice Partners . Mr . Bhatt has worked with more than 25 CAPRA-accredited agencies ( such as ours ) as we work to refine and refresh our Strategic Plan .
Of the almost 24,000 parks and recreation agencies nationwide , there are only 205 CAPRA-accredited agencies . While that is a prestigious accomplishment , Mr . Bhatt noted those accredited agencies must think of that achievement as the “ floor ,” while continuing to reach for the “ ceiling ” by continuously instilling within our agency the next and best industry practices .
