The Code Compliance Division is proud to announce Catie Laird as the 2024 Code Officer of the Year .
Code Officer Laird , who joined the division in October 2021 , has quickly made a name for herself through her dedication , initiative and consistently high performance . Initially hired as a Code Compliance Specialist , Code Officer Laird rapidly advanced to Code Compliance Officer II .
She has been a key player in developing the division ' s commercial code enforcement program through her impressive ability to research and obtain site plans . This year , she took the lead in creating a comprehensive Commercial Code Enforcement Guide for her colleagues , a valuable resource that has streamlined the division ' s enforcement efforts .
Alongside her regular duties , Code Officer Laird consistently goes a step above by volunteering for neighborhood meetings , City events and after-hours enforcement efforts . Her commitment to serving the community exemplifies the dedication and professionalism that the Code Compliance Division strives for .
The award recognizes Code Officer Laird ' s exceptional work ethic , her initiative in improving departmental resources and her commitment to public service .
