Conference 2021 : A flexible , high-quality experience

Welcome back to the PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference ! We ’ re pleased to offer you this opportunity for professional development and inspiration — all complimentary to members — from the comfort of your home or office . The work you do is essential , impacting the lives of students , families and communities . As you attend conference , we hope you find encouragement and insight to help you navigate the year ahead .

The format of the event is designed to give both flexibility and a sense of community . Keynote speakers will present at a scheduled time each morning , so you ’ ll be viewing simultaneously to other attendees . A new batch of recorded education sessions will be loaded onto myPSBA daily , so you ’ ll have fresh content to watch when it ’ s convenient for you . The added benefit this year is that you don ’ t have to limit the number of ed sessions you benefit from — watch a selection or watch them all !
Outstanding keynote speakers for this year include experts on educational equity , communication and leadership , as well as social-emotional learning . Monday ’ s opening keynote , Kimberly Reed , M . Ed ., CDP , is an award-winning international speaker , author , corporate trainer , and diversity , equality and inclusion executive . On Tuesday morning , you ’ ll want to hear Dr . Donna Beegle , co-founder and president of Communication Across Barriers , which provides resources and trainings that aim to improve communication and relationships across poverty barriers . Authors Gregg Behr and Ryan Rydzewski will close conference on Wednesday with a presentation on their inspirational book , When You Wonder , You ’ re Learning : Mister Rogers ’ Enduring Lessons for Raising Creative , Curious , Caring Kids .
Inside this issue , you ’ ll find brief articles written by PSBA staff experts and Alliance Partners on a variety of relevant topics : equity positions at the district , the purpose of political action committees , “ going green ” at school , school director required training , cybersecurity insurance and administrative staffing decisions .
