SINCE MARCH OF 2020 , standard and expected Pennsylvania public school human resources metrics have varied from typical trends , indicating additional staffing challenges may be on the horizon . Many school leaders and educators have delayed retirements to help see their schools and students through the unprecedented challenges our districts have faced . Salary adjustments were curbed due to financial uncertainties . Educators stepped in to fill the needs that emerged throughout the year .
