PsAZZ
Psoriatic Arthritis Support Group
Welcome
...to the summer edition of PsAZZ News!
It’s been sweltering at PsAZZ HQ these last few weeks but I’m definitely
not complaining! With the kids off school and many people flying off on
holiday I’ve also decided we should take a break from PsAZZ get togethers
until Autumn (a little ‘BIRD’ tells me there just might be a PsA Information Day
to look forward to then too...)
However, it’s not been all sitting in the garden with a lolly as you will discover by
flipping over to p.6 and reading all about the PsAZZ social media ‘explosion’! Hopefully
it means PsAZZ will be more available to more people giving us the ability to share
more! I hope it will inspire you to get more interactive with us too.
Also inside this issue we have the promised article on ‘Healthwatch Wiltshire’ on
p. 12 and we have a frank discussion with one group member about their experience
of being a Dad with PsA on p.16. Read about how we went along to a focus group for
a great new gadget on p.20 plus updates from the ‘Save the Min’ organisation and
PAPAA.
Our cover story this issue is thirst quenching Watermelon which, as a fruit, has some
surprising extra qualities worth knowing about (see p.14) and we are pleased to
introduce a fantastic new resource for young adults with arthritis called ‘Arthurs Place’
on p.15.
Our inside cover poppies are to recognise and remember the falllen as we touch the
100yr anniversary of the start of WWI - incidentally, we had some great feedback on
our feature about The Min in WWI in the last issue and don’t forget the RNHRD have
WWI special lunchtime session coming up.
Anyway, I’m off to deadhead my sweet peas which did eventually grow after my
spring foray back into a bit of simple gardening. I hope you enjoy reading this issue
- remember, this is your news too so write in, join in and become part of the
conversation!
