If you ’ re one of the many Americans just discovering the joys of RVing and camping , you ’ re not alone . According to the Kampgrounds of America ’ s North American Camping Report , the number of campers grew by 3.9 million households over the past year . RV ownership also continues to increase – 11.2 million people own RVs , according to Go RVing . As the pandemic hit , people turned to RVing and camping to get away from their homes and enjoy the great outdoors . Others decided to take extended journeys where their RV became an office , a school or both .
RVs are available at many different price points and designs to fit a variety of lifestyles and needs . From the young couple just starting out to growing families and retirees , people in all stages of life enjoy the RV lifestyle .
Pennsylvania offers many opportunities to RV and camp . The Commonwealth is rich in forests , parks , trails , historical sites , amusement parks , breweries , fairs , museums , restaurants and much more . As part of your journey , plan to stay at some amazing campgrounds with great amenities on the property or get even closer to nature without those conveniences at a state forest .
In this issue of EXPLORE Pennsylvania , learn about one couple ’ s experience leaving their RV homebase to bike and camp through the Great Allegheny Passage and the Chesapeake and Ohio Towpath . Find great information on the different RV types , boondocking and solar energy . There ’ s also a preview of Hershey America ’ s Largest RV Show set for September 14- 18 , 2022 . This show features more than 1,200 new RVs , campgrounds , products and services and seminars for both the experienced RVer and for those just starting out .
