Owner John Bieber created pathways and opened up some of the rooms that were closed off by mineral deposits . In 1942 , Edward Swartz purchased the caverns and his family owns them today .
Tours are 45 minutes long and included a professionally trained guide to explain the geology , history and showcase the beautiful formations and a crystal-clear lake . The property offers the following activities : picnic area , playground , petting zoo and gem mining .
