Fans who want the tailgating experience
without the added responsibilities of
bringing food and setting up also have the
option of reserving a tent on the grass
along the Allegheny River with Tailgate
Guys. Started in 2009 at Auburn Univer-
sity, this company contracts with area
restaurants to provide seating, food and
beverages for groups of between 20 to
60 people. The company also offers valet
services so that customers are able to
drop off food and supplies with employ-
ees before parking. Once again, the stadi-
um complex in South
Philadelphia offers
38 parking facilities
within the area and
approximately one-
third of these provide
for tailgate parties.
The parking cost for
cars is $18 and any oversized vehicle,
which occupies more than one space, will
be charged $36. Parking lots open five
hours before the scheduled starting time.
Tailgating is not permitted in lots west of
Darian Street and north of Pattison Ave-
nue. Gas grills are permitted while glass
bottles and containers are prohibited.

operation, the park provides a panoramic

Pittsburgh Pirates
After opening its gates in 2001, Pitts-
burgh’s PNC Park immediately gained a
reputation for having one of the prettiest
views of any stadium. With the Allegheny
River and city directly beyond the right
field wall, this stadium has been rated as
the best in the major leagues by Ballpark
Digest and Bleacher Report and was listed
as one of the top 10 parks by Fox Sports.
With PNC a couple of blocks down the
street from Heinz Field, the Pirates also
have access to 22 presold and general
admission parking lots as well as parking
garages. These facilities open five hours
before the game’s scheduled first pitch
and close an hour after the game has con-
cluded. Gas grills are allowed to be used
in surface lots but are banned in parking
garages. Tents, glass containers and furni-
ture that is not a folding table or chair are
also not permitted.
Motorhomes, oversized vehicles and bus-
es are not permitted in any of the lots.
