The coach ’ s energy , enthusiasm and vision is contagious , but leadership really becomes a team effort . “ I have been blessed to have parents who are willing to go above and beyond to meet any needs we have . The staff stays the extra minutes , works individually with the girls , and gives the team its best efforts and attention .”
The leadership within this year ’ s team began to develop early . “ In many ways , it started after last season ’ s sectional loss ,” explained Coach Purichia . “ The girls began immediately to unite in purpose and determination . You could see it in their off-season work and as this season ’ s practices started .”
The seniors on the team helped shape the team ’ s direction . “ We sit down in the beginning , and I ask the seniors what they want practice to look like , what routines will help them as they prepare for games ,” responded Coach Purichia . “ This year ’ s seniors were very determined . They knew what they wanted in practice because they knew what they wanted to achieve .”
Winston Churchill once said , “ Success is not final , failure is not fatal ; it is the courage to continue that counts .” The 2022 Providence volleyball team allowed last season to mold and shape it leaders and its accomplishments .
