Celebrating milestones is important . Birthdays , graduations , victories – milestones come in a variety of shapes and sizes . In the hectic pace of today ’ s world , we accomplish a goal or complete a task and we move on to the next event .
But some milestones along the way demand a pause for a celebration of time . The moment is significant enough to require opportunities to reflect , to consider , and to make adjustments for the future . These moments must be captured in a way that respects the accomplishment and allows for future remembrance .
CONGRATULATIONS 2022 PROVIDENCE GIRLS ’ VOLLEYBALL ON GIVING US A SEASON TO REMEMBER .
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote , “ To be yourself in a world that is contantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment .” This group of Providence athletes achieved the Indiana High School Athletic Association ’ s 2022 Girls Volleyball Class 3A State Championship . Division 3 State Championship by being themselves .
Previous experience told this team their goals were too lofty . Inexperience wondered about their depth and maturity . Insecurity and fear reminded them of past losses . Aches and pains , bumps and bruises scolded them that the price for success was far too high .

In order to succeed , one must be willing to take risks . T . S . Eliot commented , “ Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go .” This milestone resides at volleyball ’ s pinnacle .
